Halliburton Seeks Talent for Venezuela Return

Halliburton is collecting resumes for positions in Venezuela, signaling a potential return after exiting in 2020. This follows a White House meeting where the CEO expressed interest.

Halliburton Seeks Talent for Venezuela Return

Halliburton has posted a job listing seeking engineers, technicians, and other skilled oil workers for positions in Venezuela. The posting, dated January 16, appears on the oilfield service company's job board.

The company is gathering candidate information for its "talent network" in the country. According to the platform, submissions will allow recruiters to view profiles for potential future opportunities but do not constitute formal applications.

This development comes weeks after U.S. President Donald Trump called on oil companies to invest $100 billion in Venezuela to boost production. Halliburton exited Venezuela in 2020, eliminating all staff positions there following U.S. sanctions.

Halliburton CEO Jeff Miller participated in a January 9 meeting at the White House with Trump. Miller stated the company first began operations in Venezuela in 1938.

Miller told Trump he had lived in Venezuela for four years at one point and raised his children there. The company is "very interested" in returning, he added.

Halliburton did not immediately reply to a request for comment seeking additional details.
