NRW Holdings has announced that its subsidiary Golding Contractors has been awarded a mining services agreement worth around A$750 million with TEC Coal. The contract covers operations at the Stanwell Meandu Mine in Queensland, Australia.

The agreement is set to last for five and a half years, starting this month. The Meandu Mine is located 25 kilometers southeast of Kingaroy in the South Burnett region.

The mine has an annual production capacity of 7.6 million tonnes and is expected to supply coal until 2037. It was first commissioned in 1983.

Under the contract terms, Golding Contractors will manage the full mining operation. This includes operating and maintaining three fleets of heavy mining equipment, a dragline, and a processing plant, all provided by TEC Coal.

The contract involves a six-month mobilisation phase followed by a five-year operational phase. It is anticipated to provide jobs for approximately 400 local residents.

NRW CEO Jules Pemberton stated, "This award is reflective of Goldings’ excellent reputation for the delivery of safe and efficient contract mining services. The capital-light structure of the contract aligns with our strategy of reducing the capital intensity of our contract mining operations and positions the group well to be able to deliver continued value to our shareholders."

Pemberton added, "We look forward to welcoming the approximately 400 local employees to the NRW family and to providing them with a safe and positive workplace. Goldings’ and the broader NRW Group look forward to a long and successful partnership with TEC Coal."

NRW is a diversified contract services provider operating in Australia, Canada, and the United States. Its services include civil construction, contract mining, and equipment refurbishment.

In July 2025, NRW's Civil & Mining division secured a contract from Rio Tinto for the Brockman Syncline 1 mine project in Western Australia's Pilbara region. That contract is valued at about A$167 million.

For that project, NRW is responsible for constructing earthworks, roadworks, and drainage systems related to the primary crusher, overland conveyor, and ancillary infrastructure. The work also involves building haul roads, access routes, concrete structures, and includes drill and blast operations.
