Roger Sant Sells Ritz-Carlton Condo for $23.8 Million with Proceeds Going to Charity

Energy executive and art collector Roger Sant has sold his full-floor condominium at the Ritz-Carlton Residences in New York City for $23.8 million, according to a report from Robb Report.

The entire sale price will be donated to charitable causes, Sant confirmed. The co-founder of AES Corporation has directed the funds toward philanthropic work.

The 28th-floor residence was purchased by a Delaware-based limited liability company with an address in Fort Worth, Texas, the report stated.

The property was initially listed at $39 million before being reduced to $29 million. Sant purchased the condominium in 2017 for $17.6 million.

The 6,800-square-foot unit is one of only 12 residences in the 1920s tower designed by architect Emery Roth. Designer Thomas Pheasant renovated the space for Sant, creating a 33-foot-long gallery leading to the living room and an adjoining dining area.

The primary suite occupies 2,000 square feet across the entire west wing, featuring two bathrooms, two dressing rooms, and views of Central Park.

New owners of Ritz-Carlton residences must pay over $17,000 in common charges for services including a private resident lobby, dedicated concierge, and access to hotel facilities such as the business center, fitness center, and La Prairie Spa.

Sant has been involved in significant philanthropic efforts through his role as co-founder and chairman emeritus of The Summit Foundation, which focuses on environmental conservation.
