Ryder System Downgraded by Analyst Following Recent Acquisition

Wolfe Research analyst Scott Group downgraded Ryder System, Inc. to Peer Perform from Outperform on January 8.

Just days earlier, on January 5, Ryder finalized its purchase of Truck Service Depot, an Atlanta-based mobile maintenance provider for commercial trucks and trailers across Georgia. The company stated the acquisition bolsters its Torque by Ryder retail mobile maintenance platform and accelerates growth for that service.

Truck Service Depot employs over 20 technicians and operates two sites: a large 10-bay drive-through maintenance facility in Atlanta and a service center in Savannah, Georgia. Ryder anticipates the deal will improve efficiencies and provide additional value to customers of both firms.

To ensure smooth operations, Torque by Ryder intends to integrate Truck Service Depot's employees, assets, and daily activities into its wider network throughout 2026. Ryder Systems also noted that Truck Service Depot founder Scott Marshall, who started the business in 2018, will collaborate closely with the company to facilitate the transition.
